Ingredients:
- 1 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (6 oz. pckg. semi sweet chocolate chips)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
How to prepare Banana Cake:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease the pans well
- Combine sugar, butter, eggs and mix well;Stir in buttermilk, bananas, and vanilla; blend well.
- Stir in flour oats baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter in pans and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. You can also add the nuts to the batter.
- Divide the batter evenly between the pans. Smooth the batter level, then spread it slightly from the center to the edges.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or just until the tops are springy or a cake tester comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in their pans on a rack for 10 minutes. Then invert onto racks.
